Course

Infusions + Herbal Formulation

a 4 week online course where you’ll meet the herbs in a new way, and learn how to make therapeutic blends, tailored to you.

This is not your average herbal medicine course

Learning the actions and indications of a herb is important (eg. a herbal action is sedative, the herbal indication is for sleep). But what creates resonant and deeply therapeutic blends is going beyond ”this for that” blending, and understanding the deeper nature of a plant. To understand their gesture, their energetic qualities, their flavour tones, and how they will reach your individual constitution. You are unique, and even if you share exactly the same issue as the person sitting

beside you, the best herb for you will be different to the one best for them.
In this course you will meet the herbs from this deeper place, so you can make impactful blends that get to the heart of what you are blending for. You’ll learn how to blend with both your head and your intuition, to create safe and resonant blends whenever you need.

Learn how to formulate your own safe +
therapeutic herbal blends.

Imagine if whenever you are in need of a remedy, you could blend one for yourself.
A remedy you knew would be effective + deeply supportive.

To know your body and what it’s saying to you is so valuable.
To know the herbs and how to use them is empowering.
To feel safe when you’re unwell and have remedies available to you, is life changing.

When you finish this course you will

  • know and have connected with 30 different herbs that will over time, become dear friends

  • understand how to use herbs beyond their simple actions and indications

  • be able to formulate therapeutic blends that are safe, nourishing, energetically balanced, + taste beautiful

  • understand how to marry the energetic qualities in people with the energetic qualities in plants

  • have so many ways to weave tea and infusions easily into your day to day life

what people are saying

what people are saying

Tea is a way of reclaiming herbal medicine.

Herbalists used to have a rich array of ways to bring herbs to people, and centre stage in their dispensary was tea. Through tea you could share herbal wisdom and pass on recipes for healing, with seeds for planting. No need for anything other than herbs and water. In the last few decades, the commercialisation of herbal medicine has lead to a vast change in how we can access herbal medicine, herbal wisdom and there has been a vast change in the herbalists tool kit. Tinctures now sit as the central remedy used in our dispensaries, and are heavily marketed to us as the strongest and most effective way to use herbal

medicine. Though, gentle does not mean less effective. The herbalists before us had no trouble making restorative remedies, before tinctures. I would guess, the majority of the healing impact between herbs and humans across history, has been carried through water. Since the beginning, water has been used to bring through a herb’s nourishment and support.
Learning the herbs, learning how to blend therapeutic blends brings herbalism back into your hands, just as nature intended.

Is this course for me?

If you are completely new to herbal medicine or you know a little about the herbs, you’re going to learn so much (and get the education us herbalists and naturopaths wish we got!).

If you’re a student herbalist or naturopath, or an experienced practitioner you will deepen how you tune into and understand the herbs, and really deepen how you formulate your blends, so they are resonant and clear. You’ll also learn how to bring teas back into your practice as a central and impactful remedy.

What do I get?

  • 45+ video lessons

  • Materia Medica workbook including 31 full herbal profiles

  • Herbal Safety Chart

  • Formulation Workbook

  • Herbal Energetics Chart

  • Dose and Flavour Strength Chart

  • Ratio Patterns Chart

  • Herbal Flavour Wheel

  • Herbal Recipe Book

  • Q+A space. I will be present in the course daily to answer your questions and point you in the right direction. If there is a question many people share that needs deeper exploration, there’ll be additional video answers and sharing.

What isn’t included?

Organising the herbs that will accompany you through the Course

In this course we are focussing on tea blending and infusions as our remedy. This course doesn’t cover herbal tincture formulating, though the formulating principles and method you will learn can be applied to any herbal remedy making; tinctures, syrups, steams and balms.

Herbs for blending aren’t included, though a limited number of custom made Tea Bundles will be available below and in your Course home page. The Tea Bundle includes 31 organic and Australian grown sample packs of the herbs that will accompany you through the course.

Alternatively, you can source organic dry herbs locally to you, at a bulk foods store or an online herb supplier for example. Folks that did this gave us the feedback that this ended up more expensive than purchasing the curated Course Tea Bundle. You will have time before the course begins to gather what you need. You can travel the course without the herbs, but having them with you will give you a much richer learning process and experience connecting with them.

About your teacher

Sarah is a fully qualified, Australian Naturopath trained in Herbal Medicine, Nutrition and Homeopathy. She began her education as a teenager at university, and was lucky enough to have a medicinal plant garden and grass roots herbalists as her first teachers. Sarah studied for 10 years, and still felt as though there was a missing part in her understanding of the plants and healing.

She found her way to Anthroposophic Medicine, and completed post graduate training in Germany and Switzerland. It was there she felt she met the herbs truly for the first time, learnt Goethean science, patterns of growth, healing and illness, that deepened her understanding and connection with the plants a thousand fold. She continues to study Anthroposophic Medicine and the plants, and works with the herbs and people in her clinic daily.

I will also be available for 4 teaching weeks everytime doors open for new students.

  • Around 2 hours a week, and as much time as you want to blend, ask questions and explore everything you’re learning. The learning is self paced through each week.

Many people go at their own pace and learn in their own time.

  • Yes! When you enrol you have lifetime access to the course. You are welcome to start when it suits you. Many people do this.

Over the 4 weeks, new materials will be available at the beginning of each week and remain available from there. If you want my support, join in for the 4 weeks when I will be in the course answering questions and supporting. You can revisit answers in the Q+A space for 3 months after the course begins.

  • It can be scary jumping into a course that sounds really great, but you’re not sure until you get there. If after the first 2 weeks of the course you decide it isn’t for you, be in touch to let me know and I will give you a full refund of the course fee, or the partial payments you’ve made. I’ll also ask for your feedback, so I keep listening and sharing great resources. After the close of the first 2 weeks there are no refunds , so be sure to decide and let me know before the close of week two (before week three’s resources become available) if you’ve decided the course is not for you.

  • Yep yep yep! I’d love to see you there.

  • To access this course you will need the internet. This course is spoken and written in English. At the moment, subtitles aren’t available on the videos. I’m aiming to have this available when we are next open for enrolments. Everyone should be welcome and able to access this course, and I’d like to continue to make it more and more accessible.

  • You pay online by card when you join. Prices and payments are in AUD.

I won’t have access to your card details, they are kept securely by Stripe.

If you’re paying in weekly instalments, you’ll be asked for permission to have the payment automatically collected from your card until you’re all paid. If your card is declined at the time, it will automatically try again and if this payment fails you’ll loose access to the course. Be in touch with me if you have any payment issues. I’m happy to help you.

  • All the PDF resources are printable, and they are also able to be digitally completed so you can write notes from your computer if you’d prefer not to print. If you’re a pen and paper person we’ve designed the worksheets to go easy on the ink and still be beautiful.

  • A pen or pencils for the workbooks if you’re working pen to paper. For the Materia Medica part of the course you’ll need cups, something to cover the cups and a thermos or tea pot for hot water (take care!) for taste testing and meeting the herbs. For blending, you need a simple bowl and Tablespoon measure. I think that is everything!

  • No, it won’t. What you will be able to do is make safe + beautiful blends for yourself, and for friends and family, just as you would bake them a cake or make a healing slow cooked meal when they’re in need. If you want to practice as a practitioner, seek out a 3-4 year certified course or apprenticeship.

  • This depends on the legislation around creating commercial herbal tea blends in your country or area. This course will absolutely give you a rich foundation of connection with herbs and understanding, to go on and create beautiful + resonant blends.

  • Yes! Yay for young herbalists. I would say kids ages 10 and above would love this course, and be able to engage with the practices and concepts. Learning is unique, and you know your child best so it may suit your child at an earlier age, or be better for them when they’re older. If within two weeks of the course you decide it’s not for them, you can get in touch with me and I’ll organise a full refund for you. After 2 weeks of the course there are no refunds, so be sure to be in touch before the close of the second week.

  • Great question! We have had absolute beginners, students and practitioners join the Course and all get so much from it.

People who are new to the herbs will learn so much, and as a practitioner or student you’ll deepen how you tune into the herbs and really deepen how you formulate blends, so they’re clear and resonant.

Many practitioners join the course to bring infusions more centrally into their prescriptions.

We cover many things modern herbal training is now lacking, herbal energetics, synergies, flavour tones, plant part affinities, and deeper ways to understand plants beyond actions and indications. You’ll get so much from the course.

  • Yes! There is a live session where we dive into Q+A and formulation support. We run through your blend ideas and jam on adjustments and refinement. There will be a recording if you can’t make the live!
